This post talks about percentages. Per means 'part' and cent means 'for every hundred'. Percentages are a lot like ratios because they are both comparing multiple numbers.
A percentage formula would look like this:
Numerator divided by denominator=decimal multiplied by 100=_%
Others should read this post because it can help them if they don't understand percentages.

Question 5
The principal announced that 50% of the children in Ms.Stanzi's class met their reading goal for the month and that 55% of the children in Ms.Lowrey's class met their reading goal for the month. Ms.Stanzi said that a greater number of her students met their reading goal. Could Ms. Stanzi be correct? Why or Why not.

Ms.Stanzi could be correct because 50% of any number is always half and 55% of any number is more than half. Ms.Stanzi could be wrong because it doesn't matter what number or how big that number is.

Question 6
