GROWING POST

Question 1 asked what a good definition of a percent would be.

Question 2 asked how 3/5, 3:2, 60% and 0.6 are equivalent.

60% is the same as o.6 because 0.6 is like 60/100 is equal to 60%.

3/5 is equal t0 60 percent and 3:2 is equal to 3/5 because 3+2 or 3:2=5

Question 3 asked for three different ways to find....

35% of 80.

1. 80x35 divided by 100= 28

2. 80x0.35=28

3. 80 divided by 100= 0.8x35=28

Question 5. The principal announced 50% children in Ms. Stanzi's class

have met their reading goal for this month and that 55% of Ms. Lowrey's

met their goal for the month but Ms. Stanzi says a greater number of

students met their goal in her class. could she be correct why or why not?

she could be correct because if Ms. Stanzi has 100 kids in her class and

Ms. Lowrey's class has only 60 that means 50 kids reached their goal in Ms.

Stanzi's class and only 33 children reached their goal in Ms. Lowreys.

Question 6.

16 is 40% of 40 - 16x100 devided by 40=40

120% 30 is 36 - 30x1.20=36
